FAQs
Permanent makeup can last for 1-3 years. A touch up is required 6-10 weeks after the initial appointment. Clients that choose a soft or light colour shade or did not follow the aftercare instructions may require more touch up appointments.
Factors that will cause your permanent makeup application to fade faster include: tanning bed/sun exposure, exfoliating, oily skin, profuse sweating (e.g. hot yoga 5x/week), medical conditions.
Most likely – semi permanent make up treatments usually require a top up after 4-6 weeks complete the treatment.
Since each person has a different chemical and genetic makeup, it is impossible for us to tell you in advance exactly how much pigment retention you can expect with each application or how many applications you will ultimately need. We promise to give you 100% pigment saturation with each application but the amount you retain can be unpredictable – but we can advise as best as possible vs your desired result.
Usually the more intense the colour desired or the darker your natural lips are – multiple treatments may be required. For more natural blush treatments, this may be achievable in one treatment.
It depends – Some clients describe feeling minimal discomfort and pain similar to threading or waxing; whilst others say they felt barely any pain at all. The amount of discomfort will depend on your individual pain tolerance as well as your body’s reaction to anaesthetic.
Remember that pain is experienced at differing levels with each individual client and that it is felt as a result of causing damage to the tissues of the body. During the permanent cosmetic procedure, pain can be derived in a number of ways:
> The continuous rapid needle penetration damages the tissue and may present itself as a sharp/scratchy pain.
> Stretching the skin. While it is necessary to stretch the skin for good practice, it could cause the client some discomfort, especially as the tissue has been damaged.
For ladies, you may be more sensitive during your period and it is normal to experience pain more on one side of the body than the other because of the positioning of our nerve endings.
Yes – it can be useful to see what colour you usually choose, but you don’t have to. I often ask for a picture of your lips when made up or your ideal lip colour to get an idea.
Yes – if it has been over 2 weeks since your last filler – then you are OK for a lip blush treatment.
