Sclerotherapy Treatment

Say Goodbye to Leg Veins

Leg Veins

How Does Sclerotherapy Work?

Spider veins and thread veins are treated medically using a treatment known as sclerosing. It involves directly injecting a special sclerosant solution into the veins that are affected. This solution irritates the vein lining, causing it to enlarge, become sticky, and eventually transform into scar tissue that the body eventually absorbs. Consequently, the treated veins vanish, improving both look and circulation immediately – the pressure in the veins mean that they can re-appear lighter, requiring multiple treatments, or disappear completely.

Sclerotherapy Benefits

Improved appearance

Spider and thread vein visibility is reduced, resulting in a smoother, more luminous skin.

Minimally invasive

The process is minimally invasive and involves little to no downtime.

High success rate

Only one treatment is necessary for many individuals to see a noticeable decrease in vein size.

Fast recovery

Most people are able to return to their regular activities on the same day with minimal downtime.

How Does the Treatment Work?

Using a tiny needle, the sclerosing fluid is injected into the targeted veins during sclerosing therapy. The solution causes the vein walls to collapse and shut down. The occluded vein gradually turns into scar tissue and disappears. Blood is then redirected to healthier veins, which improve circulation and reduce pain. It only takes a few minutes, typically 15 to 30 minutes. Multiple treatments are required for long lasting beneficial results.

Who Is an Ideal Patient for Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is more effective for those who

Possess spider veins or thread veins on their legs.

Seek out a vein removal technique that doesn’t require surgery.

Have reasonable expectations and are in good health.

Veins could have developed during pregnancy, long periods of standing, hereditary reasons, weight gain, hormonal changes, trauma / surgery.

Not suitable for veins on the face or varicose veins.

What to expect along the process?

Aftercare and Recovery

Walking is advised to help disperse the product along the veins.

It is recommended that compression stockings be worn for approximately two weeks on the calves

Keep treated areas away from the sun for two weeks.

Avoid intense exertion for a few days.

Maintain a healthy weight

Avoid standing for long periods of time

Quit smoking

How Many Sessions Are Required?

The number of sessions needed depends on the vein’s size and severity. Most patients show improvement after ONE TO THREE SESSIONS, and follow-up visits are used to monitor progress. In most cases a 80% reduction in the appearance of veins is easily achieved.

Sclerotherapy FAQs

Spider and thread veins are treated using sclerosing, a minimally invasive procedure. A fluid that causes the veins to close and vanish is injected.

Most people experience only slight cramping or stinging during the injection, which is relatively little pain.

A session typically lasts 15 to 45 minutes, depending on how many veins are treated.

A tiny vein might go away in a few weeks, but a large vein might take months to go away.

Mild side effects including bruising, swelling, and redness normally go away in a few days.

Veins that have been treated often don’t come back, but new veins may grow over time and need more treatments.

Most patients can return to their regular activities right once, with very little downtime; however, intense exercise should be avoided for a few days.

To minimize irritation, it is recommended to wait 24 hours after sclerotherapy on the face before putting on makeup.

Sclerotherapy is safe for all skin types, however, based on vein structure and skin tone, results can vary slightly.
